Ice Canyon, Greenland

Ice Canyon or Greenland’s Grand Canyon is probably the most photographed place in Greenland. The name Ice Canyon best describes the place. The Canyon is actually a huge pit buried underneath the ice sheet. This majestic canyon, artfully carved by nature itself – formed by meltwater. It is one of the places where you can enjoy the amazing scenes of water flowing deep through giant icebergs.
The Ice Canyon runs from the central region of the island and into the Arctic Ocean. According to the latest research, the canyon helps transport water from the melting of the glacier to the ice sheet into the ocean. With 700 Km long, 10 km wide and depth of about 800 meters, Ice canyon is one of the longest canyon ever discovered on the earth.
