Fiji Islands, South Pacific Ocean

Fiji is the name of a South Pacific archipelago comprising over 300 islands, covering 194,000 sq. Kilometers of the ocean. Only just over 100 of these islands are inhabited and many of them are untouched. Each island is a tropical paradise that offers something different but palm-fringed white sandy beaches, lush rainforests ringed by thriving coral reefs, fish-filled lagoons and locals keen to show off their culture make every single one a fascinating destination.

There are well over 200 locally managed marine parks, plenty of well-kept botanical gardens, thick tropical rainforests, palm tree-lined beaches and smiling faces amongst all of it! The islands are ideal for snorkeling or diving trips and witnessing vibrant corals, spinner dolphins and up to 5 of the world’s 7 turtle species. There are multiple golf courses near the main island hubs, plus there’s a range of spa and cultural activities at, or near, the resorts.

Although the beaches are one of the main draws of a trip to Fiji, there are also, incredible hiking trails, bird-watching opportunities, natural pools and waterfalls off mountain tracks and the chance to discover traditional culture with a visit to a local village. Most trips to Fiji include a “lovo” – a traditional feast cooked in an earth oven, and a kava ceremony where guests are invited to try Fiji’s national drink and get to learn more about the Fijian way of life.

With a range of resorts to choose from, including all-inclusive private island resorts, Fiji provides the perfect opportunity for a luxury vacation. Surrounded by the crystal clear waters of the South Pacific, it’s no surprise that the islands are abundant with popular recreational activities and natural wonders. These unique and significant Fijian features, in addition to aesthetically pleasing islands with all-year-round tropical weather, make Fiji a popular destination, attracting thousands of tourists throughout the year.
