The NIO EP9 is an electric-powered, two-seat supercar manufactured by NIO. The NIO EP9 has many aerodynamic features for top speed and efficiency. Its body is designed to sustain forces up to 3 G with its structural solidity and aerodynamic efficiency so it could achieve its top speed. The EP9 was the fastest road legal production car to lap the Circuit of the Americas, without a driver, fully autonomous. It was also the fastest road legal production car to lap the circuit. NiO took an EP9 around the Nurburgring and they beat their own record by an insane 20 seconds, clocked at 6:45:900.
With four high-performance inboard motors and four individual gearboxes, the EP9 delivers 1-MegaWatt of power, equivalent to 1,341 HP. The EP9 accelerates from 0-200kph in 7.1 seconds and has a top speed of 313kph. With an interchangeable battery system, the EP9 is designed to be charged in 45 minutes and has a range of 427 kilometers. NIO EP9 is expected to be produced in low volumes with a price around $1 million.
