BMW Unveils Concept i4 electric Gran Coupé

The BMW i4 is an all-electric four-door fastback styled sedan under development by German automobile manufacturer BMW, marketed as a four-door coupé. It is the fifth model of the electric BMW i sub-brand. The i4 concept vehicle, which was unveiled online because the Geneva International Motor Show was cancelled due to the coronavirus, is slated to enter production in 2021. The i4 concept has a more aggressive front end than most any other BMW on the road right now, especially with the extended, basically gaping kidney grille that stretches almost to the ground. But from the side or rear, the i4 resembles its many modern BMW siblings.

Powering the BMW i4 Concept is the brand’s latest fifth-generation eDrive powertrain, which consists of the electric motor, power electronics and charge unit, all in one. In the i4, this eDrive powertrain will create a whopping 530 hp and help it reach 60 mph in four seconds flat, all while netting a maximum 600 km on the WLTP cycle. The 80 kWh battery pack of the i4 can be charged to 80 percent in 35 minutes or six minutes for a range of 100 km.
