The Mercedes-Benz EQS is a future electric full-size luxury sedan produced by the German automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz. It is part of the EQ family, a range that will expand to include 10 new models by 2022. The EQS was presented at the International Motor Show Germany in 2019 as the Mercedes-Benz Vision EQS and foreshadows the future Mercedes-Benz series luxury electric sedan announced for 2021.

Interaction between the vehicle and its environment is not just limited to the lights in the VISION EQS. The digital front grille, which realizes a light matrix consisting of 188 individual LEDs as a world first, provides a new level in precise signaling. Thanks to an intelligent operating strategy, the show car has a comfortable operating range of up to 700 km according to WLTP. Assuming a charging performance of 350 kW, the show car recharges the battery to 80% in considerably less than 20 minutes. The Mercedes EQS will be built using a new platform that will help it offer even more interior space than in an S-Class. It will be just as luxurious as an S-Class, potentially even more so, and feature the latest in-car tech. This system features three digital displays set in a vast single-piece glass dashboard design. It’s the largest touchscreen ever fitted to a Mercedes production car. A pair of electric motors are expected to power the 2022 EQS, which in turn translates to all-wheel drive. While its official power output hasn't been confirmed, the Vision EQS concept had a combined 469 horsepower and 560 lb-ft of torque. Mercedes estimates that should be able to launch the large electric sedan from zero to 60 mph in less than 4.5 seconds.
